Grupo Aeromexico has signed a letter of intent with Boeing to purchase up to 100 next-generation jets valued at nearly US$11 billion, a deal which when firmed would represent the largest investment ever by a Mexican aviation company.

Through the arrangement, effective later this summer, JetBlue and Cathay Pacific Airways plan to offer single-ticket travel and one-stop baggage check-in for travelers transferring between the airlines at New York JFK and Los Angeles International Airport.

For its 2012-13 northern winter operating season, Singapore Airlines will stop flying Airbus A380s to New York JFK but will offer A380 service to San Francisco for the first time.
