AErolienas Argentinas has increased Buenos Aires Ezeiza – Montevideo operation, where it now offers daily service instead of 4 weekly. This went into effect since 01JUN12. From 01DEC12, this will further increase to up to 12 weekly. Air China once again has expanded codeshare agreement with TAM Airlines, which Air China’s “CA” code (CA7100 – 7199 series) is now appearing on TAM’s Domestic Brazil service, as well as Rio de Janeiro – Paris CDG route. On initial posting, these flights were not filed in the OAG database and worldwide flight guide, therefore it was treated as “new” service. However, according to Air Canada’s PDF schedule listing, the airline offered same service in Winter 2011/12 season. UNITED and EVA Air has issued joint-application with the US Department of Transportation, seeking permission to launch codeshare service. EVA Air previously had codeshare partnership with Continental Airlines till 02MAR12. South African Airways starting 15AUG12 is cancelling Cape Town – London Heathrow service, ending over 35 years of service. The airline started this route in mid-70s with Boeing 747SP. The airline briefly operated multi-stop operation on this route in late-70s and early-80s. Last flight departs Cape Town on 14AUG12, London Heathrow last departure is 15AUG12.
