South African Airways starting 17MAY12 is extending 2 weekly Johannesburg – Pointe Noire operation to Cotonou, a new destination for SAA. Airbus A319 aircraft operates this route, and the aircraft will overnight in Cotonou. As a result of the service extension, SAA departure from Pointe Noire will move from Day 47 to Day 15. From 08JUN12 to 29SEP12, MIAT Mongolian Airlines is expanding operation to Berlin, where it’ll offer 4 weekly nonstop Ulaan Baatar – Berlin service. Also, the airline between June 2012 and Sep 2012 will continue to operate 2 weekly Ulaan Baatar – Moscow Sheremetyevo – Berlin route. In the past summers in 2010 and 2011, the airline only offers 2 weekly nonstop flight to Berlin while suspending Moscow service. UNITED on 03MAR12 conducted its final phase of integration between UNITED and Continental, which sees the integration of reservations between the two, to the new SHARES system. The integration also marks the end of Continental’s IATA code “CO”, ICAO code “COA” and IATA ticket number “005″.
FINAL departure flight carrying Continental’s “CO” flight number was CO1267 (UA1267), Phoenix – Cleveland, Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Actual Departure time was 2353LT 02MAR12 (6 minutes earlier than scheduled), actual arrival time was 0524LT 03MAR12 (22 minutes earlier)
FINAL arrival flight carrying Continental’s “CO” flight number was CO006 (UA006), Tokyo Narita – Houston, Boeing 777-200ER aircraft. Actual Departure time was 1547LT 03MAR12, actual arrival time was 1210LT 03MAR12.
