As per 14JUN11 GDS timetable and inventory display, Finnair is adjusting selected service to Asia during Winter 2011 season, effective 30OCT11. Overall service sees minor reduction by 3 weekly flights.

India’s IndiGo airlines starting 01SEP11 becomes the 6th carrier in India to offer International service.
The low-cost carrier will be offering service on Delhi – Bangkok (eff 08SEP11), Delhi – Dubai (eff 01SEP11), Delhi – Singapore (eff 15SEP11), Mumbai – Bangkok (eff 02OCT11) and Mumbai – Dubai (eff 02OCT11).
On Bangkok route in particular, IndiGo will be the 8th carrier operating service on this route, while being the 4/5th carrier on other routes.

As per 14JUN11 GDS inventory display, Emirates has scheduled new launch date for its planned Dubai – Baghdad service.
The airline is now scheduled service launch on 13NOV11, and is operating 4 times a week. Originally it planned to launch this route in July 2010, operating 3 times a week, but was shelved due to poor demand.
Baghdad will now be Emirates’ 2nd destination in Iraq, although reservation is NOT OPEN at time this post goes to press. Schedule:

Korea’s Jeju Air is expanding International service out of Busan. The airline has launched Busan – Hong Kong route 3 times a week since 02MAY11, and will launch Busan – Bangkok 4 times a week starting 30JUN11.

Indonesia’s Lion Air from 29JUN11 will begin Daily Jakarta – Kuala Lumpur service, on board 189-seater Boeing 737-900ER aircraft.
On GDS timetable display, it says this route is currently in operation, but appears to be loaded in error for flights until 28JUN11.

Air China starting 16JUN11 will launch Chengdu – Tokyo Narita NONSTOP scheduled charter service. Service operates twice a week, but will increase to 3 times a week starting 05JUL11.
This route was due to be launched from late-March 2011, but was cancelled due to March Earthquake in Japan. The flight was loaded into the GDS nearly 2 weeks ago but did not open for reservation until early this week. Fellow Star Alliance partner ANA will also launch this route on Daily basis from 19JUN11.

Ethiopian Airlines continues to expand its codeshare agreement with Lufthansa across Europe, where “ET” code is now appearing on additional 12 cities in Europe. Wizz Air from 16DEC11 is launching Brno – Eindhoven service on board Airbus A320 aircraft, which operates 2 times a week.
The low-cost carrier currently also offers Brno – London Luton 4 weekly and Brno – Rome Fiumcino 2 weekly flights.

Canadian carrier Air North during Canadian Thanksgiving weekend (Weekend of 07OCT11) is offering charter service on Whitehorse – Victoria nonstop service, on board Boeing 737 aircraft.
Also, for Summer peak travel, the airline has increased Whitehorse – Calgary – Edmonton – Whitehorse from 4 to 6 weekly (Compared to S10). Flight increase is in effect from 25MAY11 to 09SEP11. On Whitehorse – Dawson City, the airline is increasing service from 6 to 8 weekly, with the new evening service starting 13JUN11 to 09SEP11.
