Turkish Airlines to start Afghanistan service as planned from July 2011 with new schedule Posted: 28 Jun 2011 02:42 AM PDT As per 28JUN11 GDS inventory display, Turkish Airlines has adjusted planned operational schedule for its new Istanbul Ataturk – Kabul service, and has re-opened reservation. New flight schedule is operating 4 hours later than previously scheduled. As a result the launch date is being “pushed back” to 10JUL11, instead of 09JUL11. On 27JUN11, this website reported that TK is canceling the service due to closure of reservation in the system. The original post is being removed as reservation is opened once again as of 28JUN11. JAL plans aircraft change to Jakarta in W11 Posted: 28 Jun 2011 01:10 AM PDT As per 28JUN11 GDS inventory display, JAL from 30OCT11 is changing operational aircraft on Tokyo Narita – Jakarta service, which Boeing 777-200ER (with Executive Class Shell Flat Seat; J56W40Y149) replacing -300ER. Capacity remains unchanged (777-200ER is 1 seat less than -300ER), but will see the elimination of First Class service. Separately, the oneWorld member carrier last week has adjusted Tokyo Narita – Vancouver service, which will continue to be operated by Boeing 767 in W11. Hainan Airlines to start Manzhouli – Chita service Posted: 28 Jun 2011 12:39 AM PDT Hainan Airlines starting 30JUN11 is launching 2 weekly Manzhouli – Chita service, becoming the first carrier to offer International service on regular scheduled basis from the Chinese inner-Mongolian city to Russia. It will also be the 2nd Chinese carrier operating to the Russian city, where Air China currently operates 2 weekly Hailar – Chita service with Boeing 737-300. According to report, prior to the launch of this 1-hour only air traffic service, the only access between Manzhouli and Chita is by road for 7-8 hours, or by rail for over 10 hours. THAI resumes Brussels from Nov 2011; Latest carrier announcing service launch from Routes Event Posted: 27 Jun 2011 10:06 AM PDT As per 27JUN11 Amadeus timetable display, THAI from 17NOV11 is resuming service to Brussels with 2-class Boeing 777-200ER, after nearly 15 years of service suspension. It last operated service in mid-90s with 3 weekly Bangkok – Stockholm – Brussels routing with MD11 aircraft (TG960/961). The Star Alliance member last week announced the service resumption, and the schedule has loaded earlier on Monday. Reservation will begin sometimes in July 2011. THAI is the latest carrier to have reached a deal with airport authority as a result of Routes Event, organized by RoutesOnline, a partner of this website. During Routes Asia event in Seoul Incheon in late-March 2011, THAI announced it is allocating 3 additional weekly flights in Europe, leading to fresh competition from various European airports vying for this allocation.
