Los Angeles based aircraft leasing company Air Lease Corporation has grabbed headlines on the first day of the 2011 Paris Airshow by revealing orders and commitments for up to 110 commercial jets, including up to 50 Airbus A320neo-family aircraft, 12 other Airbus airliners, up to 33 Boeing jetliners and 15 Embraer E-Jets.

One carrier has committed to 15 of the new passenger version of the 747-8, while another carrier placed an order for two, Boeing says.

Jakarta, Indonesia-based Sriwijaya Air has signed an agreement, which remains subject to final documentation, to order 20 Embraer 190 jets and has reserved purchase rights for 10 more aircraft.

The SAS Group has placed an order for 30 Airbus A320neos an optioned an additional 11, with its first delivery scheduled for the second half of 2016 and delivery of the 30th aircraft during 2019.

A major network carrier will become the first operator to take delivery of the first CSeries aircraft. The carrier, which has requested to remain unidentified, has signed a firm order for 10 CS100 aircraft with options on an additional six.
