bmi starting 13OCT11 is launching new service to Amritsar, its First destination in India. Service operates via Almaty 3 times a week with Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
Existing 3 weekly service to Bishkek will operate via Baku instead, with Airbus A321 aircraft operating, replacing A330-200.

Pakistan International Airlines starting 01JUL11 will begin Karachi – Madinah service. The flight operates twice weekly with Boeing 747-300 aircraft.

As per 21JUN11 GDS timetable and inventory display, EGYPTAIR starting 01AUG11 resumes service to Kuala Lumpur.
However, the flight will operate Cairo – Bangkok – Kuala Lumpur routing, instead of nonstop which operated prior to suspension. At time this post goes to press, the Star Alliance member does not have local traffic rights on Bangkok – Kuala Lumpur sector
Boeing 777-300ER aircraft operates this route on daily basis. Schedule:

Royal Brunei Airlines has announced latest restructuring, which sees the carrier will cancel a total of 5 routes, including pull-out from Australia (EXCEPT Melbourne), New Zealand and Vietnam market, as well as Kuching service cancellations.
Service to Kuching ends in July 2011, while the rest of the markets will be canceled from the launch of NW11.

Air China starting 04JUL11 will begin codeshare with bmi on Domestic UK and Ireland service. The codeshare agreement at this stage is unilateral, which sees “CA” code appears on bmi flights, not vice versa.
Air China is the 20th Star Alliance partner codesharing on bmi’s Domestic UK and Ireland routes, and 29th overall carrier.

Spirit Airlines starting 22SEP11 will launch New Las Vegas – Portland OR service, offering 2 Daily flights on board Airbus A319 aircraft.
Meanwhile, the ultra low-cost carrier is reducing Las Vegas – Los Angeles service in Fall and Winter. From 18AUG11, service reduce from 5 to 3 Daily. 4th Daily service will be offered once again from 08SEP11, for Fall and Winter season.

British Airways/Comair from 01JUL11 is increasing Johannesburg – Nelspruit from 6 weekly to 12 weekly.
There will be up to 2 flights a day on weekdays, on board ATR72 turboprop. This route was previously operated by Boeing 737-300.

Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) on last Friday (17JUN11) approved the relaunch of International charter service to/from Sendai. Portuguese carrier HiFly and Swiss carrier Edelweiss will be able to offer service between Sendai and Europe, with a total 8 one-way flights between 23JUN11 and 27JUL11.
Sendai airport is currently targeting scheduled International service resumption on 25JUL11, as the recovery project is still underway since March Earthquake.

British carrier flyBe starting 25JUL11 will close its Birmingham – Frankfurt and Manchester – Frankfurt service.
Both routes currently operates up to twice a day with Dash8-Q400 aircraft. As of 21JUN11 GDS inventory display, reservation for these routes has closed as all class of service (Fare types) are being Zero’d out, including both “BE” code and “BA” code (BA codesare on these routes as well).

As per 21JUN11 GDS timetable display, South African Airways has reduced capacity on its Daily Johannesburg – Nairobi route.
Boeing 737-800 aircraft has replaced Airbus A340-200/-300 aircraft on selected days. Starting 01JUL11, Boeing 737-800 operates 5 times a week, while A340 operates twice a week.

JAT Airways last Friday (17JUN11) resumed Belgrade – Dubrovnik route, which was suspended for nearly 20 years.
Service operates twice a week with ATR72 turboprop on Fridays and Sundays, until 16SEP11.

Czech Connect Airlines in Summer 2011 season is adding additional new routes. From 25JUN11, it is introducing Saturday-only service on Pardubice – Moscow Domodedovo route. From 30JUN11, it is introducing 2 weekly Prague – Athens service on board Boeing 737-300 aircraft.
Meanwhile, the airline has introduced seasonal service on Ostrava – Split weekly flight from 15JUN11 to 07SEP11, and Prague – Ostrava – Kavala (Greece) from 14JUN11 to 03SEP11.
