As per 19JUL11 GDS timetable display, KLM has reversed its plan to return Amsterdam – Tokyo Narita service to 10 weekly level in Winter 2011/12 season, effective 30OCT11.
The Skyteam member is now planning to operate this route on Daily basis only, with a mix of Boeing 747-400COMBI and -400PAX.

Singapore Airlines and Transaero starting 01AUG11 will begin codeshare service. In addition to Singapore – Moscow service, reported last week on 12JUL11, the codeshare service will be bilateral, with Transaero placing “UN” code on Singapore – Moscow Domodedovo – Houston by SIA, and SIA placing its “SQ” code on selected Domestic Russian routes by Transaero.

Venezuelan carrier Conviasa is expanding service in South America as well as the Caribbean, with additional flights on existing market and new routes.
The airline on 15JUL11 has launched Caracas – Port of Spain 5 weekly service, and will add 2nd Daily Caracas – Bogota route from 02AUG11. From 15AUG11, it will launch service to Ecuador with 6 weekly Caracas – Guayaquil service on board Boeing 737-200 aircraft.

DELTA last Friday (15JUL11) issued a notice to the US Department of Transportation for its intention to adjust service to 24 smaller cities in the US, where these routes are currently subsidized but under-performing.
The adjustment comes after the Skyteam member’s decision to phase out its entire Saab 340 fleet and a measure to halt the annual loss of US$14 million.
DELTA plans to continue serve the following markets under some conditions:

Conditions:
The notification provides the DOT the opportunity to select a new carrier to begin service in affected EAS communities within a 90-day period. Delta will continue to serve the affected communities through its Delta Connection partners until the DOT selects a replacement carrier and appropriate funding is available. In some cities, Delta is coordinating with other carriers to bid on the routes. In addition, Delta will to continue service in some subsidized and non-subsidized markets, but the subsidy rate must be higher in order for Delta to fly larger regional jets on the routes in question.

China’s newest carrier, Tibet Airlines, is planning to launch operation on 26JUL11. Initially the airline operates with Airbus A319 aircraft, offering service on Chengdu – Lhasa – Shi-Quan-He/Ali and Chongqing – Lhasa service.
Star Alliance member Air China will place its code on these flights, as per airline GDS inventory display as of 19JUL11, however reservation is not open.

Donavia on 03JUL11 has introduced weekly service on Rostov – Bishkek, where Boeing 737-500 aircraft operates on Sundays to the Kyrgyzstan capital, and Mondays on the return flight.
Also from 24JUL11, 1 of 2 weekly Rostov – Adler/Sochi – Tel Aviv service will become nonstop as Rostov – Tel Aviv route. As per 18JUL11 GDS timetable display, Air Pacific is overhauling its operation to curb its loss with fleet and operation changes starting Northern Winter season.
Its sole Boeing 767-300 aircraft, which has been in service with the airline since 1994, will be retired in mid-January 2012. It will lease 1 additional Boeing 737-800, results in network and frequency changes.
