ETIHAD to launch Chengdu, China service from mid-Dec 2011 Posted: 05 Jul 2011 12:34 AM PDT ETIHAD starting 15DEC11 is launching Abu Dhabi – Chengdu service, becoming the First Middle-Eastern carrier to operate passenger service to Southwest China, instead of the usual big 3 (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou). Chengdu is the airline’s 2nd destination in China, 69th overall. Airbus A330-200 will be operating the service 4 times a week. Reservation is now open as of 05JUL11 however the airline is only releasing full-fare inventory. Discounted fares are currently not available, and is currently subject to Government Approval.
