Tibet Airlines, a newly established Chinese airline based in Lhasa, has taken delivery of its first Airbus A319. The aircraft is the first of three A319s from an order which Tibet Airlines placed in May 2010.

The airline has chosen the latest 235-tonne maximum take-off weight variant of the Airbus A330-300. Garuda Indonesia has also converted a previous order for three A330-200s into A330-300s.

The leased jets will increase Hawaiian Airlines' fleet of Boeing 717s to 18 aircraft. With the three additional Boeing 717s, Hawaiian says it will be able to expand its inter-island service between Honolulu and Kahului, Lihue, Hilo, and Kona during peak travel periods.
