China Airlines increasing Taipei – Sydney service from Nov 2011 Posted: 14 Jul 2011 03:40 AM PDT As per 14JUL11 GDS inventory display, China Airlines is to resume 5th weekly service on Taipei – Sydney route starting 28NOV11. The 5th weekly service to operate on Mondays from Taipei, Tuesdays from Sydney. Note in general timetable search, the 5th weekly flight is start operating from 30OCT11, however, flight is not open for reservation from 30OCT11 to 27NOV11. JetBlue adds Temporary Long Beach – Burbank service on 16JUL11 with $4 fare Posted: 13 Jul 2011 12:55 PM PDT JetBlue on Saturday 16JUL11 will operate 2 round-trip service on Long Beach – Burbank route on temporary basis with Airbus A320 aircraft. The airline has opened reservation for these flights on its website, with $4 one-way including tax (subject to availability on website). The extra flight comes as a 10-mile stretch of the Highway I-405 in Los Angeles area will be shut down from 15JUL11 to 17JUL11 for 53 hours for highway upgrade, which is dubbed as “Carmageddon” in LA, which sees roughly 0.5 million vehicles using the highway on a weekend day. According to LA Metro, the project sees The Mulholland Dr Bridge will be demolished and reconstructed to accommodate the widening of the I-405 freeway and to add a northbound high-occupancy vehicle lane through the Sepulveda Pass. The Mulholland Dr Bridge is scheduled to be demolished and reconstructed after the Skirball Center Dr Bridge. When completed, the expanded, Mulholland Center Dr Bridge will be widened by approximately 10 feet and will be designed to the latest seismic standards.
