Fiji’s Air Pacific says it’ll be reducing Nadi – Hong Kong service from 3 to 2 weekly from mid-January 2012. Boeing 747-400 will replace its sole Boeing 767 aircraft. The 767 aircraft, which has entered service with the airline in 1994, will be retired. The airline will also make other adjustments followed by the 767 retirement and inducting additional Boeing 737-800
Dutch leisure carrier ArkeFly from November 2011 begins 2 weekly Amsterdam – Dubai, 1 weekly Amsterdam – Puerto Vallarta, as well as 2 weekly Amsterdam – Eilat/Ovda. Schedules of these flights are listed on the airline’s website but info is sketchy
Cargoitalia is starting one weekly Milan Malpensa – Liege – Lome service with MD11 Freighter. Pending on request, service operates Milan Malpensa – Liege – Lome – Bamako – Niamey – Liege – Milan Malpensa routing. The service is an ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance) flight for Togo-based carrier Africa West Cargo. The latter operates DC9 freighters to 9 cities in West Africa
Caribbean Airlines from 02AUG11 to 30SEP11 is operating 10 weekly service, increase from 7, on board ATR72 aircraft on Caracas – Port of Spain route, meeting the peak season demand
China Eastern starting 22JUL11 is launching 3 weekly Liuzhou – Changsha – Qingdao service on board ERJ145

Taiwan’s Far Eastern Air Transport on 16JUL11 resumed International operation, operating Taipei – Siem Reap on board MD83. The flight was operating for Cambodian carrier Tonlesap Airlines. FAT provided the crew and aircraft, and handled its own ground service at TPE
Frontier Airlines on 12SEP11 operates final service out of Appleton WI. It currently operates up to 3 Daily Milwaukee – Appleton with Chauauqua Airlines under Frontier Express banner, on board Embraer ERJ135 aircraft. Last departure from Milwaukee is 11SEP11.

Others
Japan and Macau last week concluded revised bilateral air service agreement. The agreement sees Air Macau able to increase service to Tokyo Narita by Summer 2012. Restrictions on number of flights operating on Tokyo Narita – Macau route will be removed by 2013. Both sides also agree to liberalize 5th freedom rights beyond each country, except Tokyo airports.

Star Alliance member ANA today introduces the launch of 6th Generation Pokemon Jet “Peace Jet”. The Boeing 777-300 begins operation on Tokyo Haneda – Sapporo route, and will operate on Nagoya Chubu – Okinawa service.
This Summer, ANA’s current “Flower Pokemon Jet” and “Pikachu Jumbo Jet” (both on Boeing 747-400D) will also operate Tokyo Haneda – Sapporo and Tokyo Haneda – Okinawa on scheduled basis, between 19JUL11 and 31AUG11.

As per 18JUL11 GDS timetable and inventory display, the following is latest Air Canada Winter 2011 operation changes for its Sun Destinations – Florida, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Mexico and Caribbean Islands.
Planned Boeing 767 service on Toronto – Florida selected flights has been cancelled, while additional route is cancelled for the season. Some other routes sees new adjustments.

DELTA starting 01SEP11 will change its operational schedule on Los Angeles – Tokyo Haneda route, followed by the temporary suspension of Detroit – Tokyo Haneda service.
Departure from Los Angeles will move 6 hours earlier from 0100hrs to 1900hrs. Also, from 02SEP11 (HND from 04SEP11), Boeing 777-200LR replaces -200ER on this route, until 29OCT11.

Turkish Airlines has changed its operation on its Istanbul – Dakar service. Nonstop Airbus A330 service has been replaced Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
On outbound flight, service operates via Tunis as technical stop. From 24NOV11, this route to be operated by brand new Boeing 737-900ER aircraft, operating nonstop in both direction (see separate post).

Emirates is moving forward date of Dubai – Frankfurt service increase from 01DEC11 to 30OCT11.
From 30OCT11, EK is increasing this route fro 14 to 18 weekly, and further increase to 21 by 01DEC11. On 26MAY11, this site reported that Emirates is adding 3rd daily flight from 01DEC11. 3-class Airbus A330-200 operates the new flight.

As per 18JUL11 GDS inventory display, EVA Air starting 31OCT11 is adjusting passenger service to the New York City area, where it’ll transfer Taipei – Newark service to Taipei – New York JFK. Service remains 4 times a week with Boeing 777-300ER. Inbound flight operates via Anchorage.
EVA Air ended passenger service to JFK around 1997, and has been operating service to Newark for near 15 years.

Eritrean Airlines is re-expanding its operation followed by the arrival of leased Airbus A320 aircraft last Wednesday (13JUL11).
