China Eastern from 25JUL11 begins Daily Beihai – Guilin service (MU5885/5886) on board CRJ200 aircraft
China Southern from 02AUG11 begins 2 weekly Dayong/Zhangjiajie – Hefei service on board Airbus A319 aircraft (CZ6158/6157)
Cimber Sterling will be cancelling Copenhagen – Belgrade service from 29AUG11. This route currently operates thrice weekly with CRJ200 or Boeing 737-700
Continental during the month of September 2011 is operating 3 round-trip Guam – Sendai service with Boeing 737-700 aircraft on temporary basis. Service operates from Sendai on 15SEP11/18SEP11/22SEP11, and from Guam on 18SEP11/22SEP11/25SEP11

EGYPTAIR has postponed the launch of 2 weekly Cairo – Port Said service till 31JUL11. This route was due to launch on 17JUL11 with Embraer E170 aircraft. It has already received local traffic rights on Bangkok – Kuala Lumpur sector, due to start from 02AUG11. MS is resuming service to the Malaysian capital with first flight departs on 01AUG11
Freedom Airlines Express from 01AUG11 begins Nairobi Wilson – Wajir twice weekly service
Germania is offering 1 weekly Bremen – Agadir service from 06NOV11
Mexico’s InterJet from 16AUG11 launches 3 weekly service each on Guadalajara – Hermosillo and Monterrey – Culiacan route. Daily Mexico City – Havana service will begin from 11AUG11
Jet Airways from 30OCT11 begins Daily Thiruvananthapuram – Sharjah service, its 2nd route to Sharjah, and overall 3rd International service from TRV

Korean Air has temporary suspended Cheongju – Hong Kong and Cheongju – Osaka Kansai service. These are currently scheduled to resume from 30OCT11
LOT Polish Airlines will cancel 5 weekly Warsaw – Belgrade service starting 29OCT11. This route is currently operated by Embraer E170 aircraft
Okay Airways on 20JUL11 launched 3 weekly Tianjin – Weihai service
Sichuan Airlines from 01AUG11 is adding 2nd Daily Mianyang – Jiuzhaigou service with A319
THAI during the month of July 2011 is adding 1 extra weekly flight on Bangkok – Karachi (total 5 weekly), Bangkok – Islamabad (total 4 weekly) and Bangkok – Lahore (total 6 weekly). However, Karachi service from 01AUG11 to 29OCT11 will reduce to 3 weekly, while Lahore reduce to 4 weekly from 06AUG11 to 01SEP11
Tianjin Airlines on 21JUL11 launched 3 weekly Tianjin – Xi’An – Jiayuguan service
Aircraft Changes
Air China’s Boeing 777-300ER inaugural service is now scheduled on 25JUL11, Beijing – Guangzhou CA1315/1316 service
Gulf Air has started 4 weekly Bahrain – Nairobi service since 01JUL11, however, this route is operated by Airbus A319 instead of previously planned A320 aircraft
TAAG Angola has received 2nd Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which has entered service on bi-weekly Luanda – Havana service, replace Boeing 777-200ER. Also, Luanda – Johannesburg 5 weekly service has changed to all-Boeing 777-200ER operation
GDS Inventory Update
At time this post goes to press, AEROFLOT has closed reservation for Moscow Sheremetyevo – Colombo and Moscow Sheremetyevo – Ho Chi Minh route. Both are due to resume from the week of 30OCT11, 2 weekly each. For Both of these routes, on selected days only up to 2 seats in Business, 4 in Economy Class is bookable, while the rest of inventory is closed
Air China has removed planned Boeing 777-300ER service on Beijing – London Heathrow route, due to start 01JAN12. Also, it plans to start 2 weekly Wuhan – Tokyo Narita service from 27AUG11, but reservation is not open
Air India currently plans to increase Delhi – Tokyo Narita service from 4 weekly to Daily. Boeing 777-200LR aircraft operate this route. However, reservation for Day 147 from DEL, Day 125 from NRT is currently not open for reservation. Flight increase originally scheduled from July 2011, but postponed
Others
UK’s Air Southwest will cease operation on 30SEP11
Continental from 30OCT11 is changing operational flight number on Newark – Tokyo Narita, CO079/078 will replace existing CO009/008. Tokyo Narita – Hong Kong – Ho Chi Minh service will also be using CO079/078 flight number instead of CO009/008 when it begins from 30OCT11

THAI starting 31JUL11 is adjusting planned aircraft operation on Bangkok – Tokyo Narita service.
From 31JUL11 to 29OCT11, TG640/641 service, currently operated by Boeing 747-400, will be changed to Boeing 777-300ER aircraft (leased from Jet Airways). As a result, there will be 2 Daily 777-300ER service and 1 Daily Boeing 777-200ER.
On separate note, Due to US Federal Aviation Authority’s safety guideline, THAI is temporary not accepting children up to 12 years of age, including infants, on Boeing 777-300ER Royal Silk Class service (Business Class). The restriction will be lifted once the seat belt in Business Class are installed with safety air bag. THAI also operates 777-300ER to Paris, and scheduled to operate Madrid flight from 02AUG11, pending on the GDS update. This was announced on the airline’s Japanese website.

Dragonair from 01SEP11 to 29OC11 once again increases service to Dhaka and Kathmandu.
Dhaka service will maintain 6 weekly flights. However, existing KA111/110 HKG DAC terminator service will be replaced by outbound via Kathmandu. Kathmandu service increases from 3 weekly to Daily. 1 flight operates as terminator flight, while 3 weekly operates via Dhaka on outbound and 3 on inbound.

Lao Airlines has resumes service in Jinghong (Xishuangbanna) in China, with 2 weekly Luang Prabang – Jinghong route, according to the airline. Service operates with ATR72-500.
It has also announced that it’ll launch Vientiane – Singapore service with Airbus A319 aircraft starting 01NOV11.

As per 22JUL11 GDS timetable display, Korean Air has reshuffled planned Boeing 737-900ER (73J) operation.
The NEW 737-900ER aircraft is scheduled to operate service to Ho Chi Minh, Komatsu, Phnom Penh, Shizuoka, Siem Reap, Wuhan, Xiamen and Xi’An.

Korean Air from 22JUL11 to 22AUG11 is operating 3 weekly Daegu – Hong Kong route as scheduled charter service.
Boeing 737-900 operates this route. Also, the Skyteam member has temporary suspended Cheongju – Hong Kong route. Overall frequency to Hong Kong remains at 31 weekly.

Singapore Airlines from 15SEP11 to 29OCT11 is adding 8th Daily flight on temporary basis on Singapore – Jakarta route.
The new flight operates as the first flight from Singapore at 0600hrs and 2nd flight from Jakarta at 0800hrs.

Mexico’s low-cost carrier Volaris from 28JUL11 will launch 2 new routes from Mexico City to the US, where it’ll operate 1 Daily each on Mexico City – Las Vegas and Mexico City – Los Angeles service.
For the moment these service are currently operating until 31AUG11.

Brazilian carrier GOL earlier this month has launched Daily Porto Alegre – Santiago de Chile nonstop service, operated by a mix of Boeing 737-700 and -800.

Taiwan’s TransAsia Airways on Wednesday (20JUL11) has launched Hualien – Hefei service, becoming the First scheduled service between Eastern Taiwan and Mainland China, despite service currently operates under charter basis.
