  • Air Arabia from 10JUN11 is increasing Sharjah – Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen service from 4 weekly to Daily
  • B&H Airlines is canceling 2 European routes. Service on Sarajevo – Vienna has been canceled already, while Sarajevo – Frankfurt route will be canceled starting 23MAY11. These routes were operated by ATR72 turboprop aircraft
  • China Eastern says it has launched 2 weekly Hangzhou – Urumqi – Aksu service on 18MAY11, on board Airbus A320 aircraft
  • China Southern on 09JUN11 is launching Urumqi – Tbilisi route. Previously this site reported on 12MAY11 that service was to start from 11JUN11. On 09JUN11, the Skyteam member is operating Boeing 757 aircraft for the inaugural. Boeing 737-700 aircraft will be operating regularly after
  • Eastern Airways from 06JUN11 is launching 3 weekly Southampton – Dijon route. Jetstream J41 turboprop is to operate flight to the French city
  • Emirates this month (May 2011) has restored partial Dubai – Cairo service, which frequency has increased from 7 to12 weekly
  • Estonian Air from 03JUL11 is starting Sundays service on Tallinn – Moscow Sheremetyevo service, thus overall service increases from 5 to 6 weekly
  • Hebei Airlines by the end of May 2011 is launching Daily Shijiazhuang – Chongqing – Nanning with Boeing 737-700 aircraft
  • Porter Airlines from 27JUN11 is adding overall 3rd Daily flight on Toronto City – Sault Ste. Marie service

Singapore Airlines starting June 2011 is introducing 2nd configuration type for its Airbus A380 aircraft, which sees Business Class occupies entire upper deck. The new configuration, is coded “A8E” internally, seats 407, a reduction from current 471. The Star Alliance member will also become the 2nd carrier to see upper deck A380 exclusively used for Business Class, after Korean Air (which also have overall capacity standing at 407)
Comparison between the new configuration (A8E), planned operation and existing A380 configuration (A8A/A8B) as follows:

As per 20MAY11 GDS timetable and inventory display, Air Canada from 01JUL11 is canceling Daily Montreal – Mexico City service, currently operated by Airbus A319 aircraft. Last flight departing Montreal on 30JUN11, Mexico City on 01JUL11.

airberlin in Winter 2011 is adding 2nd weekly flight on Hanover – Fuerteventura, Hanover – Las Palmas, Stuttgart – Las Palmas and Stuttgart – Tenerife del Sur route (Comparison based on Winter 2010 operation).
The carrier is also introducing 1 weekly Stuttgart – Lanzarote and 2 weekly Stuttgart – Fuereteventura route.

Russian carrier UT Air from 01JUN11 launches Moscow Vnukovo – Naryan-Mar service. CRJ200 aircraft will be operating Daily to the Arctic Russian town.
Currently, only Nordavia operates service between Moscow Sheremetyevo – Naryan-Mar.

Romania’s Blue Air starting 01JUL11 is offering new routes out of Cluj, where it’ll operate 2 weekly Cluj – Dublin and 3 weekly Cluj – Rome service with Boeing 737 aircraft.
Service originates from Bucharest Baneasa but it does not have local traffic rights on domestic sector

As per 20MAY11 GDS timetable display, it appears that Hawaiian Airlines is moving forward planned A330-200 inauguration for Honolulu – Tokyo Haneda service by several days.
The carrier now plans to operate A330 aircraft on this route starting 07JUL11 (HND departure 08JUL11), instead of 12JUL11, replaces Boeing 767-300ER. A week later it’ll begin service to Osaka.
